File Extension is actually the type of file. File Extension is showed by specific words at the end of the filr name. For example, extensions for video file are .mp4, .mkv and many more, extension for audio file is .mp3, extension for Text File is .txt etc.
You may also change the File Type or Extension by just changing these specific word after the name of the file. So can easily convert any video file into audio or and then conert it back to a video file.
How to Change File Extension or File Type:
For Windows 10:
1. Open the File Manager.
2. Go to the top of the File Manager and then right click the mouse and uncheck "Minimize to Ribbon"
3. Then Click on the "View"
4. Now Tick the "File name Extension" Box
5. Now the file extensions are showing after the names of files and you can easily change then by renaming.
For Other Windows:
1. Click the start button and search for "Control Panel"
2. Open "Control Panel"
3. On the Top-Right Corner you can see the Option "View by"
4. Click there and select "Category"
5. Now open "Appearance and Personalization"
6. Open "File Explorer Options"
7. Click on "View" in above options.
8. Now scroll and find for "Hide extension for known file types"
9. Untick the checkbox and click "OK"
10. Now the file extensions are showing after the names of files and you can easily change then by renaming.
